What do the Bristols sound like?

Being currently obsessed with Thee Michelle Gun Elephant & not finding much 
by them, I was rather happy when a friend came back from Tokyo with souvenir 
singles.  One was a split with the Bristols (Vibe On/Our Love Will Still Be 
There).

"What the hell?", I thought, plunking it down on the turn-table. Shit on a 
stick, it was like the Stooges playing Blue Cheer sung by Thee Headcoatees.  
It's been 3 months, still blaring that record & annoying the hell out the 
neighbors.

So, set off on a quest to find more of the Bristols.  Picked up the cd 
"Introducing the Bristols" - what a let down.  I'm assuming that the single 
was just some strange mishap.  Can't figure out how that whole album could 
be so uninteresting & that one single so amazing.  Go figure.
