Interesting question...

While I'm young enough (barely) to have had the 80's bands be my
introduction, I never heard any of them until much more recently.  I
loosely trace my introduction to garage rock to finding the Psychotic
Reaction LP at the local Salvation Army thrift store in about 1988.
Hell, I was 24 by then.
