My intro to garage music was via a radio show, Exit 9 (thanks Ben!), in the
mid-late 1980s. Exit 9 featured stuff by both 60's and 80's garage bands,
but that distinction was lost on me, at least early on. I thought bands
like the Chesterfield Kings were 60s bands - I didn't realise there was/had
been a revival until about 6 months down the track! The first garage
records I bought were the various BFTG volumes, followed (some time later)
by other things in the Crypt catalogue (Raunch Hands, Lyres), so I guess I
discovered garage via its originators, albeit 20-25 years after the event.
