My first encounter with Garage was thru Pebbles vol.5 in 1980. It was
written "60s Punk" on the sleeve & as I was into the current punk stuff, I
was really surprised that there was any kind of punk before the Sex Pistols
(I was 15). The first 80s garage band I heard was either the Crawdaddys or
the Chesterfield Kings circa'81 (unless you include the Cramps in that
scene, it was '79 for them).
