introduction to garage

Even though I spent my high school years listening to the
Beatles and the Stones, I've got to admit that it was actually
90's!!! bands, like Twister and Fortune & Maltese, who turned me
on to the real garage scene when I was in college. Twister
covered a lot of Billy Childish stuff and some early Who ("Out
in the Street" and "So Sad About Us"). And it was at a New
Years Eve party in about 1994 that I first heard the Sonics,
which of course changed my life, and I've never listened to
music quite the same since, ha ha...
