I was there for one of their nights last month during
a residency they did and, yeah, they were good-they
should be they've all been playing those tunes off and
on for about 20 years.  I too have seen the Lyres a
shitload of times and even worked with Jeff at an area
record store for a few years, but ask yer Boston
friends if they got a chance to see ol' Jeffery do any
of his "Pokemonoman" gigs at the Middle East a couple
of months ago.  Everyone I know who saw these gigs,
which entailed Jeff playing solo-organ on the small
stage in the corner restaurant, said that it was
horrible and embarassing...thats the illustrious
"Monoman" that the people of Boston get to witness...I
know yer all jealous.  Oh, by the way, the
"Pokemonoman" tag was a name he gave himself after he
conned a Pokemon shirt from a guy that worked at a
Burger King in Cambridge---a shirt that he seemed to
wear for a few weeks at a time...
