Choosing XNet 2.0 to host your domain includes an FTP and secure shell account for you to use to maintain your web site. You're free to install and run CGIs.

There's no setup fee for configuring your account and DNS here, but you'll need to pay whichever registrar with whom you register your domain name. Or we'll take care of those details for you through register.com or Network Solutions if you'd like — their fees are around $30 a year.

All mail sent to any address in your domain will be forwarded to the e-mail address of your choice, and we'll set up specific e-mail aliases to be forwarded to different addresses if you need that. We're aggressively anti-spam and use several spam-rejection sites to cut down on it.

Disk usage, bandwidth, content.
There are no formal bandwidth or disk space quotas, although almost all customers have kept their disk usage below 50mb. If you need more, please ask.

You're responsible for your web site's content. It should be legal and shouldn't interfere with other sites hosted on XNet 2.0. That does mean the following: no spam, no porn, no "wareZ," no hacking — for bandwidth considerations, if nothing else.

Software.
We run what we know is the best software for web hosting — standards like the Linux operating system, the Apache web server, the PHP and Perl scripting languages, mySQL database — and we keep the servers well-tuned and backed up.

Hardware.
XNet 2.0 uses custom computers built and configured to run as web servers and stay up indefinitely. Offline time averages around five hours a year.
